White Philadelphia Wardrobe

What an elegant piece this white wardrobe has turned out to be! On the far left there is a hanging pullout for short dresses. The center section is comprised of shelves and drawers, and on the right there’s a vanity desk with a rich stained countertop and special storage for a hair dryer to stay plugged in, yet out of sight. The entire piece sits on furniture feet and the toe kick is recessed to reinforce the furniture look. The mirrors make the piece quite dramatic.

Mirrored Wardrobe Built-In

This drawing for the Philadelphia based design firm Mona Ross Berman Interiors depicts a white painted wardrobe with mirrored doors, a large pullout with a clothes rod, plenty of shelves, drawers, and a vanity desk. The woodwork will be on furniture style feet with recessed toekicks. The piece is located at the top of a flight of stairs, across from the banister, near the master bedroom and bath.

King Size Storage Bed Drawing

Projects undergo a transformation as they go through the design stage. This second rendering (above) of a king sized bed with six drawers is more in keeping with the client’s affinity to objects with provenance and patina. Dust and allergens in the room will be kept to a minimum with no bunnies able to hide under the bed, while the drawers promise plenty of space to stash and organize shoes or clothes. The edges will all be kept rounded so there will be less shin bruising than occurs around some sharp-cornered platform beds. The first version of the bed (below) looks entirely different, with exposed joinery and carved raw boards at the head and foot.

Modern Dining Table & Entertainment Center

table1_30_11

Near Rittenhouse Square in a new Philadelphia townhouse, this solid walnut extension dining table shares a room with a painted geometric display case. Multiple wood tones and paint peacefully coexist in the tasteful space.  The table will seat six with this configuration and the additional leaves will create plenty of space for dinner guests. When not in use, the leaves are stored in a closet in a felt-lined case.

The cubes of the entertainment unit make ideal compartments to display artful treasures, favorite books, as well as the TV and accessories.

Adaptable Drop Leaf Oval Table

A designer in NYC found our drop leaf harvest table in a google images search and thought it would be nice for a Manhattan apartment that she was renovating.

The clients had another table in mind, something they had seen and loved but was no longer available for sale. These pictures below are of the original table that they liked. We changed the design a bit for size and eliminated the fifth leg. Our table also has an apron under the leaf, unlike the original.

The table is built of Walnut with a Maple inlay and edge. With the leaf in, it is a dining table for four. With the leaf removed and the outer leaves dropped, it is a small hall table. It is a lovely delicate looking piece. In front of a real seamless backdrop, it would look dynamite! I’m sure it will look great in the apartment, too.

Charlotte Revival Display Cabinet

This simple but elegant cabinet was a re-creation of a loved piece of furniture that the client had in her previous home in Charlotte. In the center is the television, surrounded by art glass, books, and storage for special items.

The look of the piece is clean and contemporary and the finish is “Designer White” lacquer in a satin sheen. The cabinet measures 7’ wide and 8’ tall.

Located on a very narrow street and up a tight staircase, this large cabinet broke down into pieces that could be delivered in one truck and then recombined inside the room as a seamless-looking unit.
